Short    Square Brackets [ ] on the Hear Dutch Here Website
Dutch is not 'English with other words.' Between the square brackets [ ] on my website you'll find 'literal' English translations of Dutch words and phrases that show the Dutch with more precision than the 'regular' translation. It will help you better understand the words so it will be easier to memorize and reproduce those words and phrases, to say it in Dutch yourself. The literal translation is often not 'good' English. A few examples:
