Like in English, -ER and -EST endings of adjectives are the Dutch comparative and superlative degrees; Dutch can also use 'meer' and 'meest' like English 'more' and 'most' but it is less common. Like in English, and as shown earlier on the page, some of the comparative and superlative degrees are irregular:
